When I checked my Chase Credit Card (Disney Reward Card) bill to pay it on Wednesday, there were several charges that I didn't recognize from elimit.com, elimite.com, besthelp blah, blah, blah. I'm freaked out. I called the credit card and reported it. They canceled the account and are sending me a new card, which should be here in about 5 days they said. I may just call them back up after I get the new card and cancel my account. I know Chase has had problems with having their information stolen. I never use that card for anything really. I only charge my Internet provider fee to the card and that is cause my other credit card (US Bank) was being replaced (I'd lost the card--I found it eventually in a book that I had been reading. I was using it as a bookmark. Is embarrassed). My US Bank card is WorldPerks and I like the airline miles it offers so I use it more. It's also more useful for temporary big payments (well, that I used to be able to afford before I quit my lab job to be a grad assistant) since my credit limit is larger than Chase (only $1,000--I couldn't even pay my tuition with it when I still could pay out of pocket for my grad classes).
Anyway, I want to check on my bank account and other credit cards but I'm worried about viruses and malware on my laptop. I've downloaded Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and scanned (through scan) with it. It found trojan.agent (definitely) & adware.bho (I think). I had Malwarebytes delete the programs. Avast! Anti-virus found a virus (can't remember which but I looked it up and it sounded relatively harmless--it messed with Notepad and displayed graphics in it or something). Anyway, it's deleted to. I didn't find anything that sounded like might be a keylogger or password thief program. Still no idea. Maybe Verizon was hacked and hasn't realized it.....Gonna run both program again this weekend. I also need to defrag my laptop badly. After that, I'll feel better about checking my accounts online I think.
Questcare will make you nuts. I'm being billed $414 for ER physicians' bill for my heart visit in December of 2007. Why? Even though QC filed with Academic Health Plans (a student health insurance (more like discount plan--it's craptastic), they haven't filed that information Blue Cross so Blue Cross is refusing to pay on the claims until they see what AHP has paid for the claims (don't blame them at all). The Blue Cross rep I talked too is awesome so far. I called and talked to him on Wed and he tried calling QC then and got placed on hold then. He actually called me back on Thursday to keep me updated! I couldn't believe it. Nicholas has tried calling them (Wed and Thurs) and they won't return his calls. So, now he's sent them a letter requesting this information. You'd think QC would want their money and would be more responsive in order to get their money. Dumb butts.
