wynddancerWatched last night's showing of the second season premiere. Very impressed. I loved it. Wasn't sure I would. Kind of indifferent to last season's show but I liked the idea of the tv show. Still haven't watched all of last season--caught most of the season during the marathon they showed though. Grad school really interferes with my tv watching schedule unfortunately. I'm so happy I'm graduating in December! Yay! I'll get my life back. Of course, I'll need a job, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
Anyway, I loved the symbolism of the show. Last season, they had John as "emo" boy, which I thought was fabulous actually. It gave them a starting point for turning him into the future leader of mankind against the machines. I thought it matched well with John in the movies. I thought it was brave of them to make this choice concerning John's character. I would've liked to have seen it played out for a full season. I loved the beginning episode this season, which continues on his actual birthday. He may or may not have killed for the first time. At the end, he cut his hair signifying his transition or "birth" from "emo" boy to "soldier" boy (guess I should say "man" but I don't think he's quite there yet) on his actual birthday. loved the whole mythology set up and Christian comparisons. I loved Summer Glau's and Thomas Dekker's acting when her character was crushed between the trucks. I thought they both did actual acting jobs. Very impressed here. I loved the Sampson and Delilah song, sung by Shirley Manson--I can't wait until it is released. I enjoyed Shirley's character. I wasn't expecting the urinal scene to reveal her presence as a terminator. Very effective in my opinion. You're already vulnerable when using the bathroom and that really creeped me out. A terminator comes out of the urinal and kills you. What else can they mimic? I can't say I liked the implication of her being peed on though. I am very impressed with this episode and will continue watching future episodes. I guess I'll watch Gossip Girl on Sundays instead of Mondays.
