I really like Google Chrome. It's better than Firefox in that I don't constantly get Not Responding messages, which freeze up my computer for as long as 2 minutes) and it loads webpages much, much faster. I hadn't realized until I played with Chrome yesterday how much the the NR message and long loading times for Blackboard (online class system) were affecting me I think half of my dislike for my classes (past and present) has been browser frustration since they are online classes for the most part. I feel relieved and happier now. Still not completely happy with them but I am much, much happier. It's possible to use delicious buttons with Chrome. I wish Chrome would open up previous webpages you've visited after you've shut it down like Firefox allows you. I don't know how I missed the option before but I found it. Awesome! I also wish Chrome was more customizable--I like Firefox's AdBlock, etc. Does anyone actually click on those damn ads? I don't unless I'm trying to help support a website/cause (click here and we'll donate money to feed the hungry, etc.). I've never bought anything off those sites I've clicked through. It still loads the webpages with ads faster than Firefox though. The interface just feels so floaty and lightweight to me. I can see more of my screen, which enables me to see more of the webpages that I visit. It's awesome.
Typing of the Dead, which is an improve your typing program, is awesome. I may be fast but my accuracy isn't always the greatest so I found this and downloaded it. It's totally awesome. When you type a letter or word, you fire a bullet, which hits a zombie and eventually kills it. It's a zombie killing game that teaches you to type the QWERTY keyboard. It lets you explore and has levels. Too bad it doesn't teach DVORAK, which I understand is easier on the hands/less risk of carpal tunnel and which I want to learn since my hands start to hurt after typing for while. Decisions, decisions. Try to learn DVORAK (which I'll be slow & inaccurate with at first) or improve my QWERTY accuracy and keep my typing speed.
I still can't believe that the professor made the final exam a group paper! Jesus! It's not enough to have a group article/paper due but also a group final exam?! Shit! I'm ready to finish the class up this week but I can't get my group mates to respond. It took 2 weeks to get everyone to agree on a subject and final exam question. This is pissing me off. No one's talking about the group article revisions either. I think I'm going to revise the article paper by myself and see what they have to say. I may also end up writing the final exam totally by myself too and putting their names on it--I'll see what they say to that. The only assignments due in the class for the rest of the semester are the group article revisions, final exam, and discussion board posting along with 1 response to another classmate's posting. Jesus. I could finish this by myself this week and have the rest of the month and December free of this class. In my practicum class, I have 1 paper left to write. Then, I get to graduate. Wheee! No whee......... Due to health reasons, I really need to maintain health insurance, which my little 20/week GA job provides and there a few more classes that I would like to take. However, when I tried to register for them Thursday night, I was blocked by the registration system since I'm graduating. Shit. I'm told I have to reapply. Seriously?! What the hell?! Do I really need to reapply with 2 LOR, essay, etc.?! I'm going up on campus to talk to them on Monday. I just want to go ahead and get my MLS and MS so that I qualify for jobs I am qualified for otherwise (MLS required). Shit. I need to take 1 more HS class so that I can take the CHES exam.
Freakin' teachers drive me nuts. I got a B in the ethnic and culture subject class cause my final was too long! It was supposed to be only 2-4 pages since doctoral students only write that much when they do comps......I'm not doctoral, I knew the questions, I researched the question, and wrote in my head. I wrote 6 pages, which is too fuckin' long according to the professor since comp students don't write that much....well, they don't know the question ahead of time do they, bitch....and they don't type fast like I do either I'm sure........I'm also a wannabe writer so I'm used to composing in my head while doing other things and then typing it out later. Now, according to my current professor, who also wants to do "mock comps" even though I'm a master student, the final exam should be between 3-5 pages and not shorter (not 2 pages) since doctoral students write 2-5 pages on their comps. Jesus. My final in the other class was 6 pages, which was 2 pages too long and according to the professor now, it would only be 1 page too long. Well, which is it, morons? Do they write 2-4 or 3-5 pages, hmmmm? Of course, I know that was just an excuse anyway since I'm sure the real reason that I got a B was because I'd had the professor before in other classes and I asked about "graded" homework that she had not returned to the students. You know what? I'm still waiting. I took the class in spring 08, got an A, and the professor said she'd mailing out the feedback/graded homework to the students. Guess what? I'm still waiting. Bitch. I think I pissed her off asking her about the feedback on the homework. It's not like I needed it or anything to know where I went wrong and right in my assignments so that I could correct the assignments so that I could use them for my Portfolio in order to graduate. Bitch. I'm happy that I'm graduating even if I do take more classes in the spring. With the degrees in hand, I can always tell them to kiss my ass if necessary.
