wynddancerSo I've been reading Sky High slash fics. If you're unfamiliar with Sky High, you should watch this slashy Disney film. It's fun and it's about superpowered teens coming into their powers and learning about controlling them how to be a hero (or a sidekick) at superhero school (classes include Mad Scientist, etc.). It's entertaining. The "hero" of the film is Will and his "enemy" is Warren (Will's dad arrested Warren's dad since Warren's dad was a supervillian and Warren hates Will because of this). Really, go watch it (one character turns into a mangeta guinea pig as a superpower and another one glows). It's hilarious. It's fun to watch the various relationships in the movie grow and progress. Actual character development!
So, there's not much slash in the fandom (het or gen mainly); the main slash pairing is usually Warren/Will and Warren/other character. Since it's a small fandom based on a movie, there's little (well-written) fic (especially in slash fics). VickyVicarious' fics (I braved the Pit of Voles!) have been entertaining me and they're well-written/entertaining for this fandom (better than average in this fandom). She writes Warren/Will. I've been reading and enjoying her fics. I just finished Fate in Flames and really liked it. It's more of slow progression from friendship to a relationship using Chinese proverbs and fortune cookies! Fortune cookies! Yeah, that amused me. Will's nervous about coming out and it has a more realistic vibe to the story (don't wanna spoiler too much). I've only read her SH stuff but I've enjoyed each SH story that I've read.
