Yes. Yes. Yes. This. Doesn't everyone want to be seen for what/who they are rather than for what the other person wants them to be? I want to be known to my friends but not to everyone. I definitely would like to respected for my beliefs instead of being mocked, patronized, held in contempt, or belittled for them. It's part of being know. I'm very uncomfortable revealing myself or even with talking to people anymore b/c when I do I get smart assed responses, belitted, made fun of, patronized, you're a dumbo, etc. response. I no longer really give a response other than agreeing with the other person or by saying I've not really thought about it. I mean. Jeez. I've had people attack me and push me into a conversational corner (a fuckin' 10 minute interrogation and I do mean interrogation--evidently I'm a "fuckin' weirdo" for this opinion) just for saying that I think hairless bodies are kind of weird (no hair on arms, etc. Not talking about bald men or women.). I get that some people shave their body for athletic reasons or just don't have a lot of body hair, but waxing everything off? Hell, I just realized a couple of years ago that women are suppossed to shave all their body hair off except their head hair. Gah. That's not me.
You are trying to build up your own position and you resist all external influences. You insist that you are your own person and you will not tolerate any outside interference. Decisive and proud, you are true managerial material.
Yeah, my friends and Mom would agree with this statement. I can't stand advertising so I tape my shows via a VCR and watch them later. I don't like to feel influenced by media. I have a lot of contempt for people who can't exhibit independent thought and who believe what the media tells them or that think Britney Spear's life or the personal lives of celebrities are news. It's not. People dying, wars, famine, etc. that's news. Brittney going nuts and whacking her hair off, flashing her crotch, etc. it's not news. It's pathetic but it's not news.
I don't know about true managerial material though I'd definitely like to try. I sure couldn't be any worse than any of the bosses that I've had. I think I'd make a good one.
